ACE Concerts Came up Trumps for Us
Gary Moug, Sunday Post, 2003

LAST OCTOBER we revealed that Artistic Concert Experiences (ace) had joined our campaign.

The group, which boasts 140 singers and a professional 40-piece orchestra, was arranging two concerts - one in Glasgow, one in Edinburgh - with all proceeds going to our campaign.

We're delighted to announce that both concerts were completely sold out and a cheque for £4500 has found its way to the campaign coffers. ace performed songs from famous West End musicals including Phantom Of The Opera, Sunset Boulevard and Miss Saigon.

Rona McKenzie, ace's finance director, said this was the third year they've staged a charity concert. They chose CHAS because one of the choir members has a son who spent time in Yorkhill Hospital last year battling cancer, so they thought it would be nice to choose a children's charity.

Rona said, "In both venues, City Hall in Glasgow and The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, we performed to a capacity audience. The concerts were thoroughly enjoyed by performers and audiences alike and we received many letters and cards of congratulations."

"As a result of these concerts ace has been invited to take part in a professional show, featuring some top West End stars, in the SECC in June. We'd just like to let all those who supported us know how much was raised and to say thank you to everyone."
